CHAT-UP lines are getting shorter as girls rate prospective dates on how they text.
A study claims the guys in demand combine a witty message into an abbreviated text - and don't use childlike codes such as CUL8R.
Texts are now seen as vital in the dating game as girls prefer them to phone calls when judging a potential boyfriend.
Nearly half are put off by bad spelling and grammar and most are left cold by lewd texts.
Three in five dislike long, rambling texts, 118118 found.
